Summit Design Delivers Vista-PE(TM) to Provide Advanced SystemC Debug and Analysis in an Affordable Individual User Package; Vista-PE Provides Powerful Debugging for Advanced Users While Simplifying SystemC Learning Curve for Novices
LOS ALTOS, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—March 13, 2006—
Summit Design, Inc., a leading provider of electronic
system-level (ESL) and hardware description language (HDL) design
solutions, announced today the delivery of Vista-PE(TM), a personal
edition of Summit's Vista(TM) Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
for SystemC. Vista-PE provides both novice and advanced SystemC model
developers and consultants a robust subset of Vista's powerful debug
and analysis features at the affordable price of US$1,995 for a
perpetual, node-locked license.
Developed expressly for use by individuals, Vista-PE delivers the
world's most advanced IDE targeted for individual use at an affordable
price. Vista-PE's built-in understanding of SystemC speeds the
learning curve for first time SystemC users while it's sophisticated
debugging capabilities provide greater efficiency for the experienced
SystemC module developer.
"Many individual users struggle with the complexity of setting up
a gnu/OSCI-based SystemC development environment, and then must invest
tremendous effort in trying to debug their SystemC code with a design
environment intended for software development alone," said Emil
Girczyc, president and CEO at Summit Design. "Since Vista-PE was
created specifically for SystemC designs, it provides advanced SystemC
development and debugging capabilities. Having SystemC features built
in also enables novice SystemC users to learn the language more
rapidly and with greater ease, a value recognized by leading trainers
around the globe who have incorporated Vista into their SystemC
training curricula."
Vista-PE greatly simplifies debugging SystemC modules with
features such as design introspection, data acquisition, SystemC/C++
debugging and SystemC Extension Libraries. Like Vista, Vista-PE uses
it's built-in understanding of SystemC to make users more productive
with features that include full trace, trace on demand, and support
for multiple thread debugging.
Vista-PE customers can upgrade to Vista to access additional
capabilities for full-system development. These capabilities include
the Transaction Sequence Viewer(TM) (TSV), which affords corporate
users a view of the sequence of interface method calls for
Transaction-Level Modeling (TLM)-based design; and third-party tool
integration, such as co-simulation of SystemC with Synopsys' VCS, the
link with Forte's Cynthesizer, or the link to Actis' AccurateC for
SystemC linting.
Availability
Vista-PE is available in select regions of the world exclusively
via Summit Design's website at www.sd.com/products/vista_pe.html. For
a limited time, SystemC developers can download a free 30-day trial
evaluation copy of both Vista and Vista-PE. While Vista is offered
under an annual time-based license, Vista-PE's licensing model is
perpetual. Personal copies of Vista-PE can be purchased online for the
low, introductory price of US$1,995 for a node-locked license.
Vista-PE includes email and web-based support. Vista-PE is available
on Linux and Solaris platforms.
While Vista-PE can be purchased online, Vista IDE for SystemC is
available only through traditional Summit sales channels. For complete
details on both products, please visit www.sd.com.
About Vista-PE
Vista-PE(TM) is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for
SystemC that combines both hardware and software concepts to speed
design and debug of SystemC applications. Its unique data
introspection, design exploration and debugging features make for more
rapid understanding of the design and the verification process. The
advanced debugging capabilities in Vista-PE are possible because of
its built-in SystemC awareness and its in-depth understanding of
SystemC designs. Vista-PE is available on
www.sd.com/products/vista_pe.html and requires only a major credit
card for purchase, making it ideal for consultants, module developers,
and designers who are learning SystemC.
